Here at Arada, our focus has always been on creating the ultimate stove for the perfect fire in your home but this week the tables were turned when we welcomed our local fire service to promote fire safety in the workplace!
Members of Axminster Fire Service arrived to our factory on Tuesday evening when we hosted a special training session focusing on the hazards and dangers within an industrial unit.
With more than forty years’ experience, our state of the art factory and warehouse is well established as a stove manufacturing hub, but of course, with any manufacturing process, danger could arise.
The visit gave the crew a chance to explore how we keep our workers and processes safe, whilst also focusing on specific hazards such as our oxygen banks, paint drums and cardboard stacks which could cause extra danger.
With a retained firefighter in our workforce, this was a great chance for Arada to show their support for the work carried out by its local emergency services.
“...the fire crew were very impressed with how prepared we are with the [fire safety] procedures in place at Arada”.
Mark Brettell - Managing Director, Arada
Arada’s Managing Director, Mark Brettell commented: “This was a great opportunity for Arada to link up with our local community and help our local fire service expand their knowledge of how to manage the hazards which can arise in an industrial environment. “Fire and safety procedures are of paramount importance to us and we want to ensure our manufacturing processes aren’t just environmentally friendly, but are also safe for all involved. “We were pleased to hear that members of the fire crew were very impressed with how prepared we are with the procedures in place at Arada; particularly our detailed fire pack providing them with maps, detector locations and fire exits should their services ever be required.”
